I am a Journalism and English Literature graduate with experience across a range of local and regional Press, Television and Radio.
I was born in Manchester and I have extensive knowledge of the city and what it has to offer. I have worked voluntarily for many Cultural Arts programmes which has allowed me to understand some of the issues affecting communities across Manchester. I have worked for the BBC on programmes such as Mastermind and Dragons' Den.
My interest in Online Digital Journalism was confirmed through working at Key 103 radio station. As a Content Programming Producer, delivering and overseeing content creation for the website was a great way to reach a wide audience quickly and effectively.
Working across all media platforms and many community organisations in radio, television and the arts, I know that I can bring a wide knowledge of serving a diverse audience. I feel that this opportunity with Mapping Creativity would be an ideal way to combine my skills and interests in journalism, problem solving and working with people by building and maintaining effective working relationships. I am particularly attracted to the opportunity to work closely with the community ability to engage and enthuse the media and Manchester’s growing urban population. I believe I have the necessary background in not only attracting new audiences but grasping the ideals that help to overcome prejudice, bias, and other divisive attitudes that can lead to inter-cultural tension.
I have a passion for music, news, current affairs and entertainment. I enjoy travelling, reading and have a keen interest in fashion, music, concerts, plays and live music events. I have a great interest in photography, writing and presenting. Recent presenting work was for charity Grand Prix for Motors TV.
