I have been working in the Cultural and Creative Industries for a little over a decade. In my previous life, I took a degree in Languages, an MA in Philosophy, a foundation in Fine Art & Illustration and worked in international client liaison in the corporate finance sector.
For the past 10 years, I have been working at a senior level to influence policy for museums, archives and libraries with a particular emphasis on operational development, social enterprise and sustainability.
As Chief Executive of the Collections Trust, I am invited to speak and lecture around the world on issues relating to the application of next-generation technology in the delivery of public services. I have a particular passion for Intellectual Property law and practice and am involved in several national committees on this and related subjects.
In my spare time, I work freelance as a New Media consultant and developer. I like to help organisations explore their digital priorities and develop targeted online services which meet defined needs for defined target audiences.
I believe passionately that access to culture should be an eglitarian right for every man, woman and child. It helps build personal confidence, develops a collective sense of identity and strengthens society as a whole.
